How to Gather User Feedback That Actually Improves Your Product
The founder's curse is listening to all feedback equally. Most of what users say they want is misleading. What matters is what they do.
Method 1: The 'Jobs-to-be-Done' Interview
Instead of asking about your product, ask about their workflow and the 'job' they hire your product to do. Focus on their past behavior. This uncovers genuine pain points, which are the true opportunities for iteration.
Method 2: Funnel Drop-Off Analysis
Your analytics (see Your MVP is Launched. Now What?) will show you where users quit. These drop-off points are your highest priority for improvement. No amount of positive survey data can outweigh a major drop-off in your core conversion funnel.
